This week, the domestic rare earth market exhibited a trend of initial decline followed by a rebound.
Early in the week, some suppliers tentatively raised prices due to the significant and prolonged decline in prices from previous periods. However, with downstream demand lagging, prices for a few products began to fall again by the weekend, though the decline was limited.
According to statistics from China Tungsten Online, the current price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide rose by approximately 1,000 yuan/ton compared to last week, an increase of 0.25%. Praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by about 2,000 yuan/ton, or 0.41%. Terbium oxide prices rose by around 170 yuan/kg, a growth of 3.02%. Dysprosium oxide prices increased by 20,000 yuan/ton, or 1.23%. Prices for 55N neodymium-iron-boron blanks and neodymium-iron-boron scrap praseodymium-neodymium remained unchanged from last week. These trends indicate that the rise in rare earth raw material prices this week outweighed any declines.
In terms of market news, Northern Rare Earth announced that the transaction price for rare earth concentrates in the first quarter of 2025 has been adjusted to 18,618 yuan/ton (dry weight, REO = 50%, excluding tax), an increase of 4.7% compared to the previous quarter. For every 1% increase or decrease in REO content, the tax-free price will increase or decrease by 372.36 yuan/ton.
