Terbium Oxide Price - September 23, 2024

Chinese rare earth prices continued to rise slightly, with the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, and terbium oxide increasing by approximately 8 ,000 RMB/ton, 5,000 RMB/ton, and 90 RMB/kg, respectively.

On the positive side, several factors contributed to this price movement:

1.The rapid decline in rare earth prices in previous days has forced suppliers to focus more on profitability.

2.Disruptions in auxiliary material customs clearance from Myanmar have led some suppliers to tentatively raise their quotes.

3.With the National Day holiday approaching, downstream users have become more active in restocking.

On the negative side, due to the complex and volatile global economic environment, rare earth downstream production enterprises are generally maintaining rational consumption.

In terms of news, rare earth functional materials have wide applications in the home appliance industry. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the promotion of trade-in activities for home appliances across various regions and the increased demand during the summer consumption peak have driven steady and rapid growth in the production of home appliances. From January to July 2024, the national output of household refrigerators reached 58.61 million units, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. The production of room air conditioners reached 176.613 million units, up 9.5% year-on-year, while the output of household washing machines totaled 61.429 million units, representing a 7.9% year-on-year increase.
