Dysprosium Oxide Price - August 19, 2024

At the beginning of the week, the domestic rare earth market showed a general upward trend, with praseodymium-neodymium metal price increasing by approximately 7,000 yuan/ton, terbium oxide price rising by about 100 yuan/kg, and dysprosium oxide price going up by around 10,000 yuan/ton.

According to Chinatungsten Online, the favorable factors in the market include: first, due to high temperatures, increased production costs, and the fact that current rare earth prices are still relatively low, some rare earth mining companies have reduced production, resulting in a lower supply of raw materials in the spot market. Second, the increased enthusiasm for procurement inquiries from downstream users has led to more orders for magnet material companies, which in turn has allowed suppliers to raise their prices. Currently, the focus of market participants is on the release of the second batch of rare earth mining quotas.

In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in July, out of 619 products from large-scale industries, the output of 367 products increased year-on-year. Among them, the production of ten types of non-ferrous metals reached 6.56 million tons, up by 8.2%; automobile production was 2.297 million units, down by 2.4%, including 988,000 new energy vehicles, up by 27.8%; electricity generation was 883.1 billion kWh, up by 2.5%; crude oil processing was 59.06 million tons, down by 6.1%; and steel production was 114.36 million tons, down by 4.0% year-on-year.
