Dysprosium Oxide Prices - August 12, 2024

At the beginning of the week, the domestic rare earth market displayed a generally stable but slightly stronger trend, primarily due to strong production cost support and an increased awareness among suppliers to raise prices.

Today, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide increased by approximately 2,000 yuan/ton, 20 yuan/kg, and 10,000 yuan/ton, respectively. However, due to downstream demand still falling short of expectations, market transaction volumes remain limited, and some suppliers' confidence in maintaining prices appears slightly lacking.

In related news, Northern Rare Earth and Xiamen Tungsten recently inaugurated the "Joint Laboratory for Rare Earth New Materials and Applications." This laboratory will focus on common key technologies in the rare earth industry, leveraging the strengths of Northern Rare Earth and Xiamen Tungsten in technical resources, research equipment, and market promotion. The lab will concentrate on cutting-edge fields such as rare earth refining and separation, rare earth metals and alloys, rare earth permanent magnet materials, rare earth hydrogen storage materials and solid hydrogen storage devices, rare earth optical functional materials, and rare earth permanent magnet motors.
