Molybdenum Powder Prices - June 13, 2024

The domestic Chinese molybdenum market as a whole maintains a stable operation. With the small profit margin of raw material suppliers and the low consumption enthusiasm of buyers, the market is in a wait-and-see mood and the order growth rate is slow. At present, the industry focuses on the shipment of mining enterprises and the performance of steel bidding volume and price.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall heat is low. Under the poor performance of steel bidding volume and price, there are few inquiries from downstream users. However, supported by the small amount of spot inventory of molybdenum concentrate, many orders from suppliers and high international molybdenum prices, many holders still have a strong sense of price support.

In the ferromolybdenum market, the overall situation is a dilemma. The low-priced supply is difficult to mine and the steel companies offer low bids, which makes it difficult for intermediate smelting companies to quote at around 250,000 yuan/ton. Recently, the steel companies that have entered the bidding for ferromolybdenum.

In the molybdenum chemical and its products market, the buying and selling atmosphere is general, and the product price is mainly affected by the supply and demand relationship. Under the basic demand purchase of end customers and the suppliers are not in a hurry to ship, the quotations of sodium molybdate, ammonium tetramolybdate and molybdenum powder are around 174,000 yuan/ton, 237,000 yuan/ton and 463 yuan/kg respectively.

News: According to the data of the Molybdenum Industry Branch, from January to May 2024, the national molybdenum concentrate output was 122,904 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; the cumulative output of ferromolybdenum was 88,797 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%; the cumulative output of ammonium molybdate was 28,719 tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%; the cumulative output of molybdenum powder was 7,946 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%.
