Molybdenum Oxide Prices - June 11, 2024

The Chinese domestic molybdenum market as a whole maintains stable operation in the week began on Monday June 11, 2024. 

Although downstream users are less active in inquiries and purchases due to the current high price of molybdenum products and the approaching traditional consumption off-season, raw material suppliers generally have a strong sense of firm quotation under the support of small spot supply in the market and stable market outlook. Today, the quotations of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum and molybdenum oxide are around 3,880 yuan/ton, 251,000 yuan/ton and 3,970 yuan/ton respectively.

News: Customs data show that from January to May 2024, China's cumulative imports of steel were 3.043 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%; exports of steel were 44.655 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.7%. Among them, China imported 637,000 tons of steel in May, a month-on-month decrease of 3.2%; the average price was US$1,651.5/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 3.3%. In May, China exported 9.631 million tons of steel, a month-on-month increase of 4.4%; the average price was US$783.7/ton, a month-on-month increase of US$6.1/ton, an increase of 0.8%.
