Terbium Oxide Prices - May 6, 2024

The overall prices of rare earths in the domestic market have been fluctuating within a narrow range. With the supply and demand situation relatively balanced, negotiations between buyers and sellers have resulted in a slightly sticky atmosphere, leading to low market trading activity and a slow pace of order growth.

As of May 6, 2024, prices for praseodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide are approximately 410,000 yuan/ton, 6,640 yuan/kg, and 2,050,000 yuan/ton, respectively.

From the supply side, rare earth smelting and separation enterprises are generally maintaining normal production. However, due to factors such as significant geopolitical risks, ongoing conflict in Myanmar, and weak purchasing power of the Chinese yuan, the import volume of rare earths into China is limited. From the demand side, influenced by the fluctuation of rare earth product prices in April, the current low selling prices of rare earths, and positive expectations for the future market, downstream and end users are generally maintaining just-in-time purchases.

In terms of news, for the first quarter of 2024, Shenghe Resources achieved a total revenue of 2.886 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 39.92%. Operating costs were 2.883 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 32.21%. The net profit attributable to shareholders was -216 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 378.59%. Non-recurring net profit was -220 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 531.71%. Basic earnings per share were -0.123 yuan.
