Praseodymium Oxide Price - March 11, 2024

At the beginning of the week, the domestic rare earth market in China showed a mixed pattern of rises and falls. Under the influence of various uncertainties, the prices of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products showed slight differences.

Specifically, the prices of praseodymium and neodymium continued to decline, while the prices of dysprosium and terbium stabilized after the fall. The price of praseodymium oxide dropped by approximately 4,000 yuan per ton, while the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal dropped by approximately 10,000 yuan per ton. In contrast, the price of terbium oxide increased by about 50 yuan per kilogram.

According to information from Chinatungsten Online, the market's favorable factors include strong support from production costs, a high awareness among some suppliers to avoid cost pressures, and promising prospects in the new energy market. Negative factors include poor market expectations for the future of rare earths, a clear reluctance among downstream users to buy during price declines, and limited consumer purchasing power.

According to the China Nonferrous Metals News, Aohong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), proposed the following suggestions: Firstly, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology should provide special funds to support the cultivation and improvement of the national advanced manufacturing industry cluster for rare earth new materials and applications in Ganzhou. Secondly, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Science and Technology should give preferential treatment to Ganzhou in major plans, policies, project layouts, scientific and technological innovation, and talent introduction in the rare earth industry. Thirdly, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology should support Ganzhou in cluster brand culture construction, cross-regional cooperation, and industrial-financial integration.
