Chinese Rare Earth Price - March 4, 2024

At the beginning of the week, Chinese rare earth price showed a downtrend trend, mainly due to factors such as slow purchasing pace of downstream users, strong resilience of manufacturers' production capacity, ample market spot supply, the month-on-month decline in the listing price of Northern Rare Earths, and news of Apple abandoning its car-making plans. 

Currently, the prices of praseodymium oxide and neodymium oxide have both dropped by approximately 5,000 yuan/ton, while the price of dysprosium oxide has dropped by approximately 10,000 yuan/ton, and the price of dysprosium-iron alloy has dropped by approximately 20,000 yuan/ton. However, some suppliers' prices remain relatively firm due to support from production costs.

In terms of news: According to data from Chinatungsten Online, in March 2024, more than half of the listing prices of Northern Rare Earths declined month-on-month: lanthanum oxide was priced at 4,100 yuan/ton, remaining flat compared to the previous month but down by 58.16% year-on-year; cerium oxide was priced at 7,600 yuan/ton, up by 16.92% month-on-month but down by 22.45% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide was priced at 365,700 yuan/ton, down by 9.68% month-on-month and 43.07% year-on-year; neodymium oxide was priced at 374,000 yuan/ton, down by 9.49% month-on-month and 47.26% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal was priced at 455,000 yuan/ton, down by 9.36% month-on-month and 42.15% year-on-year; neodymium metal was priced at 465,000 yuan/ton, down by 9.18% month-on-month and 46.34% year-on-year.
