Terbium Oxide Price - January 29, 2024

At the beginning of the week, the overall focus of Chinese rare earth prices showed no significant changes.

Downstream users maintained basic rigid demand replenishment, and the slow release of production capacity by some rare earth smelting and separation enterprises contributed to a general low willingness of stockholders to significantly reduce prices.

Additionally, as the Spring Festival holiday approached, market trading volume gradually reduced, and there was a stronger wait-and-see sentiment between upstream and downstream.

Currently, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium iron alloy are temporarily stable at around RMB 401,000 per ton, RMB 5,670 per kilogram, and RMB 1,910,000 per ton, respectively.

In terms of news, according to statistics from the Baotou Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in 2023, the added value of six key industries in Baotou, including steel, aluminum, equipment manufacturing, rare earth, electricity, and polysilicon photovoltaics, increased by 23.4% compared to the previous year. Among them, the rare earth and polysilicon photovoltaic industries contributed 59.4% to the scale of large-scale industries. Furthermore, the growth of rare earth metal ore in Baotou last year was 1.0 times, with a 19.6% increase in individual rare earth metals.
