Analysis of Rare Earth Prices in China for October 2023

1.Price Trends in China's Rare Earth Market in October 2023:

According to information from Chinatungsten Online, the overall rare earth market in China during October 2023 showed a tendency towards weakness. This is primarily reflected in the price trends of various rare earth products, with the exception of dysprosium-iron alloy, which saw a slight increase in prices.

Prices for products such as praseodymium, neodymium, and terbium decreased, and the actual trading volume remained low. Several factors contributed to the state of the rare earth market in October, including weak downstream demand, the influence of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, a month-on-month increase in the listed prices of northern rare earths, upward adjustments in trading prices of rare earth concentrates in the fourth quarter by northern rare earth companies, news about Malaysia considering banning rare earth raw material exports, and a slight increase in the USD/CNY exchange rate.
