China Molybdenum Price - November 14, 2022

At the beginning of the week, China molybdenum price moves up slightly on the whole, mainly due to the concentrated bidding of ferromolybdenum by steel companies last week and the rigid release of raw material manufacturers’ production capacity. 

Some industry players are still worried about the market outlook. Currently, the prices of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum and ammonium heptamolybdate are about RMB 3,200/ton, RMB 213,000/ton and RMB 209,000/ton respectively.

News: According to data from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, from January to September 2022, my country imported 2.4456 million tons of stainless steel (excluding waste and scrap), a year-on-year increase of 13.39%; of which 1.2306 million tons of stainless steel billets were imported, a year-on-year increase of 21.73%. During the same period, China imported 2.0663 million tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, a year-on-year increase of 27.37%. From January to September 2022, my country exported 3.4641 million tons of stainless steel, a year-on-year increase of 4.79%.
