American Resources Joins Rare Earth Industry Association

American Resources Corporation announced its membership in the global Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA), an international nonprofit organization representing the global rare earth elements (REE) industry. The company says REIA provides a platform for stakeholders to network, conduct research, and develop strategies and supply chain standards.

The company says it will be the first company to produce isolated and purified (99.5%) magnets and battery metals from recycled end-of-life products.

Mark LaVerghetta, head of corporate finance for U.S. Resources, said in a statement, "Given that our critical and rare earth element purification facilities will be operational in the first half of 2022, we believe we can provide the association with valuable insights on innovations and solutions to support a circular economy for rare earths, and also believe they can provide us with industry-wide and visibility to the investment community."

LaVerghetta added, "We look forward to working with REIA's members and helping to address this absolutely essential and growing need to provide critical and rare earth elements to the growing electrified economy in the most environmentally safe and sustainable manner."

American Resources notes that as one of the largest developers of critical and rare metals in the United States, it is focused on redefining how critical and rare metals are sourced and processed around the world, as well as on the circular economy of recycling existing permanent magnets and battery metals using its proprietary chromatography technology, and capturing rare metals from carbon-based waste streams and byproducts.

American Resources has a growing portfolio of operations in the Central Appalachian Basin of eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia, where high-quality metallurgical carbon and rare earth deposits are concentrated.

The company added that through its initiative, it will be the first to produce separated and purified (99.5%) magnets and battery metals by recycling end-of-life products, using the most environmentally safe method developed to date.

American Resources is a supplier of raw materials to the new infrastructure and electrification markets for the production of steel, alloys, and metals and for use in rare earths and critical elements.

The Company focuses on the development of high-value assets (metallurgical carbon, rare earth elements, battery materials, and recycled metals) while recovering power coal (for power generation). The Company's operating sites are located in the Central Appalachian Basin of Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia, where high-quality metallurgical products, heavy rare earth oxides, and critical elements are available.

The Rare Earth Industry Association is an international non-profit organization representing the global REE industry. Founded in June 2019, under the auspices of EIT Raw Materials Internationalization project GloREIA.
