XTC Invests 10,000-Ton Molybdenum Materials Base in Chengdu

Molybdenum materials advanced manufacturing (export) base project of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. (XTC) is included in the 2020 Chengdu key project plan. On March 7, the inauguration ceremony of 14 major industrial projects in Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu was held in the European Industry City. Among them, four projects in the European Industry City are listed in the city’s key project plan.

Molybdenum materials advanced manufacturing base project is invested by China's top 500 enterprises XTC, with a planned total investment of 1 billion yuan and an area of 200 acres. An internationally advanced level of 10,000 tons of molybdenum will be constructed, and the main products include doped high-temperature molybdenum alloy, molybdenum-rhenium alloy, high-temperature ultra-pure molybdenum powder, and ultra-pure molybdenum oxide, etc., the products will be exported to European and American countries after production. After the full production capacity of the project is released, the annual sales income will be more than 2.1 billion yuan, the tax will exceed 76.18 million yuan.

The person in charge of the Qinghaijiang District introduced that the European Industrial City focuses on the characteristics of suitable railways and suitable for Europe to create a port-based intelligent manufacturing industry cluster. The completion and commissioning of the XTC's molybdenum materials advanced manufacturing base project will provide greater development space for the two leading industries of intelligent manufacturing and new materials in Qingbaijiang District in Chengdu, and lead the area into the first echelon of tungsten and molybdenum new materials industries in the Southwest. Attracts upstream and downstream industries of tungsten and molybdenum new materials to gather together, providing high-value sources of supply for China-Europe trains.

XTC's business covers tungsten, molybdenum, rare earth, new energy material, and real estate, etc. After thirty years development, the company has established a complete chain of tungsten industry ranging from tungsten mining, smelting, downstream processing to tungsten secondary resource recovery. It is a national key high-tech enterprise, the national torch plan tungsten material industry base, and the first batch of national demonstration enterprises for the development of a circular economy. It is one of the six major rare earth groups in the country. The production capacity of the main products of the tungsten material industry is in a leading position in the world.
