Tungsten hexafluoride products in Hebei rank the world's first place, with an annual output of 1,000 tons. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei Province, in 2019, the economic operation of the province's electronic information industry has shown a good development momentum, and various economic indicators are stable. The industry's main business income reached 172.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. Among them, the main business income of the manufacturing industry reached 129.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%. The software industry realized the main business income of 42.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.0%.

Per data shows in 2019, Hebei's electronics and information industry realized a profit and tax of 16.82 billion yuan, an increase of 35.2% year-on-year, a profit of 12.12 billion yuan, with an increase of 67.3% year-on-year. The export reached 3.17 billion US dollars, with an increase of 16.6% year-on-year, 9.37 billion yuan in fixed-asset investment, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the province said that there were 67 key electronic information projects under construction in the province that invested more than 50 million yuan, with a total investment of 139.644 billion yuan.

Among them, the 6th generation AMOLED panel module project with an investment of 28 billion yuan has comprehensive production conditions with a good yield of 70%. The investment in the second phase of the 3billion yuan Feixiang Electronic New Material Industrial Base project is progressing smoothly, with an annual output of 10,000 tons of nitrogen trifluoride and 1,000 tons of tungsten hexafluoride, which is the world's largest product scale. Qisheng Hong's flexible circuit board technical transformation project, reaching an annual output of 9.6 million square feet of flexible circuit board capacity, leading the international level of technology.

Tungsten hexafluoride is a special electronic gas and a key material for large-scale integrated circuits. It is commonly used to form tungsten films. The dominant application of it is in the semiconductor industry, where it is widely used for depositing tungsten metal in a chemical vapor deposition process.

To meet the needs of the domestic integrated circuit industry, China has deployed sets of new large tungsten hexafluoride production bases in areas such as Hebei and Chongqing. Hebei Province's "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry" proposes that by 2020, the main business income of the integrated circuit industry in the Province will grow at an average annual rate of more than 30%, and basic material technologies such as tungsten hexafluoride will continue to keep domestic leading levels.
