Tungsten prices in Chinese market stabilized in the week to Friday August 31 on heavy wait-and-see atmosphere at the end of this month. Affected by Chinese environmental checks, miners were not willing to reduce prices to move materials and customers were very reluctant to get back to the market. 

Ammonium paratungstate buyers tended to force prices down while sellers were not willing to sell at low prices. As a result, prices are in the downward trend, hovering around $278 per mtu. With the coming of peak season and European market resumption, insiders are waiting for the new guide from large enterprises and institutions.
