Some researchers have prepared molybdenum doped tungsten bronze nanorods by using a low-temperature hydrothermal method. Then, the colloids are used to disperse the nanoparticles so that specific charged ions are adsorbed on the surface. Next, a layer-by-layer self-assembly technique was used to prepare the Mo-doped tungsten bronze nanorods organic-inorganic composite electrochromic film. And then the films were characterized to find that the colloidal dispersed nanoparticles basically maintained their original physical and chemical properties during the process of assembling the films. The growth line of the self-assembled film is uniform. The Mo-doped tungsten bronze nanorods composite electrochromic film shows good electrochromic properties at room temperature. The oxidation state is transparent and the reduced state is dark blue. The film has the advantages of fast response speed, high durability, and high color changing efficiency.
