Heat Ray Shielding Material: Cesium Tungsten Bronze

As a new type of environmentally-friendly transparent heat ray shielding material, cesium tungsten bronze has excellent visible light transmittance and can shield near-infrared rays in a wide frequency band with high shielding ratio of near-infrared rays.

In recent years, experts have developed various materials that can provide heat shielding properties for automotive windows or building windows as one of the energy saving measures for reducing carbon dioxide. For example, the transparent heat insulating material tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) particles were developed. ITO can ensure a shielding ratio of 90% or more in the wavelength of 1200 nm or more, and a visible light transmittance of 90%. However, it cannot shield near-infrared rays with a high thermal energy in the wavelength range of 800 nm to 1200 nm. In order to solve this problem, the expert proposed a glass with cesium tungsten bronze nanoparticles, which can shield heat rays and ultraviolet rays in sunlight and ensure high visible light transmittance. Therefore, it is believed that cesium tungsten bronze is expected to replace ITO, occupying the high ground of heat insulation.
