Cesium Tungsten Bronze Nanopowder Applied for Office Heat Insulating Glass Coating

Cesium tungsten bronze nanopowder, or CsxWO3 nanopowder, which is mainly applied for production of office heat insulating glass coating, has excellent near-infrared shielding performance. So, the prepared coating is often used as a NIR absorber on surfaces of building glasses or automotive glasses to shield heat, ultraviolet and light pollution.

The experts introduced a preparation method of an attractive material to producing transparent heat insulation coatings --- CsxWO3 nanorods. The method is solvothermal method. Using this simple process, it is possible to synthesize homogenous CsxWO3 nanorods with low temperature and short reaction time. Moreover, the process offers an opportunity for large-scale synthesis of NIR absorbing nanorods. Specially, the experts prepared hexagonal CsxWO3 nanorods with average size of 80 nm in 2 h reaction time, at 240 °C reaction temperature, and 10% vol. oleic acid. Aqueous dispersion of the nanorods showed high transparency in visible light with strong near infrared light shielding.
