Basic Method for Preparing Tungsten Oxide Electrochromic Thin Film by Magnetron Sputtering

Using Ar+O2 mixed gas or Ar gas as working gas, using tungsten oxide or metal tungsten as a target, an abnormal glow discharge is generated by applying a high voltage on the target, so that charged Ar+ ions bombard the target, and the atom and the cluster on the surface of target are stripped out in an ion form and deposited on the surface of the substrate to form a tungsten oxide electrochromic film.

According to experts, magnetron sputtering is a common coating method with many advantages, such as fast film formation, uniform particle size, good compactness, and good bonding between film and FTO conductive glass.
