In addition, experts have introduced that the "complementary" smart window, that is, the electrochromic window applied with the "complementary" electrochromic material in the ion storage layer, which is considered to be a better structure. The so-called complementary electrochromic material, that is, the electrochromic material has cathode coloring properties, the complementary electrochromic material is anodized, and vice versa. Due to the complementary structure, the cathode and anode electrochromic films simultaneously produce coloring or bleaching under the action of an applied electric field, thereby making the colored state darker and the bleached state having higher transmittance. Experts also said that complementary devices require less power than the conventional structural devices to achieve the same optical density variation, resulting in high coloring efficiency and low power consumption.
