Tungsten Oxide Nanoparticles Applied for Building Glass Energy Saving Coating

Tungsten oxide nanoparticles for building glass energy saving coating can be prepared by solvothermal method. For example, experts adopted this method to prepare nano particle size tungsten oxide to study the effect of solution concentration on the morphology of nano tungsten oxide when isopropanol was used as the alcohol solvent. Wherein, the reaction temperature was 180°C and the reaction time was 12h. The figure below shows the SEM image of tungsten oxide nanopowder at different solution concentrations.

When the molar concentration of tungsten chloride in the isopropanol solution is 15mM, the tungsten oxide product has not formed a distinct spherical shape, but forms block-like areas of different sizes, and the surface of these areas is distributed with nanorod particles. The nanorod particles are spherically stacked into nanosphere particles with uneven particle size. When the molar concentration of tungsten chloride in the isopropanol solution is 25mM, the uniformity of the nanosphere particles is better, but the surface protrusion is more obvious, and the particle size ranges from about 1μm. With the increase of the molar concentration of tungsten chloride in isopropanol, the uniformity of the generated nanospheres decreases and the degree of joint growth between the nanospheres becomes more and more serious. At the concentration of 40mM, the complete nanosphere cannot be found.
