The smart window is composed of 5 layers, and the layers are respectively in the order of a transparent conductive layer, an electrochromic layer, an ion conducting layer, an ion storage layer and another transparent conductive layer. Wherein,

1.0 The electrochromic layer is the core of the smart window.

2.0 The ion conducting layer provides transport of ions between the electrochromic layer and the ion storage layer without electron conduction.

3.0 The transparent conductive layer provides electrons to the ion storage layer and the electrochromic layer.

4.0 The ion storage layer serves as a storage source for ions.

Specifically, some experts use an electrodeposited tungsten trioxide film as an electrochromic layer, a Prussian blue film as an ion storage layer, and a polymethyl methacrylate gel electrolyte as an ion conductive layer to produce a smart window.
