Electrochromism: WO3∙0.33H2O Film

If you know electrochromism, and you may know WO3∙0.33H2O film - an extremely important electrochromic film. Such film can be produced by a seed-assisted method using urea as a structure directing agent. The high-resolution transmission electron micrograph of the prepared hydrated WO3 nanodisk shows that it has clear lattice fringes, which proves that it has good crystallinity. The interplanar spacing is 0.367nm, which is the same as the the interplanar spacing of the orthogonal phase WO3∙0.33H2O (002).

In addition, the expert said, in addition to studying the influence of the seed layer on the structure, morphology and optical properties of the film, they also studied the effect of the common structure directing agent of urea on the structure and morphology of the tungsten oxide film. From the XRD patterns of the films prepared without urea, it can be seen that the diffraction peaks of the crystal faces of the prepared films are also consistent with the orthogonal phase WO3∙0.33H2O. It is proved that the introduction of urea does not result in a transformation of the crystal form.
