CsxWO3 Powder Applied for Near-infrared Shielding Material

CsxWO3 powder, or cesium tungsten bronze powder, may be applied for the preparation of near-infrared shielding material due to its excellent optical properties.
Some experts have studied the mechanism of cesium tungsten bronze and found that tungsten in CsxWO3 is mixed in the valence state of hexavalent valence state and pentavalent valence state. And the charge transition between these two valence states is very easy. When the pentavalent tungsten is oxidized to hexavalent tungsten, lattice vacancies will occur, and the electrons lost by tungsten will occupy the vacancy and become the color center. When exposed to a spectrum in a certain visible light region, the electrons present in the color center are excited, thereby generating a color.
When the amount of doped cations changes, the ratio of pentavalent tungsten to hexavalent tungsten in the nano grain size cesium tungsten bronze also changes, so that the number of electrons that undergo electronic transitions changes, thereby causing absorption of light waves of different wavelengths in visible light.
