There are there primary missions during China tungsten industry development process.

 

1. Enhance resources supporting capital 

To enhance resources supporting capital should accelerate the implementation of tungsten resource as strategic national stockpile. Secondly, to extend mines service life should employ China’s Mine Resource Probing Projects which means more carefulness and effective to explore tungsten resources between old mines’ deep part and periphery. Tiredly, to develop the circular economy of tungsten mineral resource, to improve tungsten scrap recycling technology, to establish resource saving and comprehensive utilization long-run effective mechanism, to improve the mining ratio, ore dressing recovery percentage, resource comprehensive utilization and to further enhance the level of resource utilization, so China tungsten industry can develop more and more better and the use ratio of tungsten resource can increase as well. Last but not least, co-ordinate international and domestic markets and resources to carry out international cooperation.

 

2.Increase market power

China tungsten industry mainly exports raw material or low technology products and import some high-tech products so comparing with oversea has low international competitiveness. With the development of technology and society, China tungsten industry should develop to produce high-tech products so it can improve market influence.

 

China tungsten industry can rely on national key laboratories, national tungsten materials engineering and technology research centers and research institutions and other innovation platform, strengthening basic research and original technology development, to build business-oriented, market-oriented integrated technology innovation system which combine with production, learning, research, and application.

3. Strengthen technical guidance force

Strengthening technical guidance force, on one hand, China should foster a number of highly quality technical innovation leading talent of tungsten industry. On the other hand, China should  develope a number of core technologies and key industrial technologies with independent intellectual property rights, in solving the bottleneck restricting the development of tungsten industry has made a major breakthrough on the issue of tungsten industry and significant progress on the high-end tungsten product research and development.

 

Jan.5th, 2016, Japanese media reported that Japan will return the 331KGS plutonium, which is used for nuclear research previously provided by the United States  in March this year. The provided time of these plutonium can be dated back to World War II. Plutonium is a sensitive nuclear material that used to make the nuclear weapons. Fukushima, the town of Japan, had occurred a serious nuclear accident on March 28, 2011, subsequently caused serious radiation pollution problems, which had severely affected many Japanese public life and health. Therefore, it reminds us to realize the importance of radiation shielding.

 

This time, Japan’s plan of returning these plutonium to the US does not mean that Japan will reduce the frequency of nuclear research. According to the information revealed by the relevant persons, this is due to that the nuclear fuel proliferative zone of Japan's domestic fast neutron nuclear reactor "Monju" had produced a kind of super plutonium, which has a better purity than these 331KGS plutonium provided by the US. Thus the power of nuclear warhead made of the super plutonium will be stronger. According to the statistics of Japanese experts, currently, the super plutonium produced by Japan's "Joyo" and "Monju" nuclear reactor had been accumulated that exceeded 50KGS, if the "Monju" reactor regain to operate, it can produce 70kgs of super plutonium annually. Thus, it can be seen that this is the real reason for Japan to return these plutonium to the United States.

 

As mentioned above, the damage caused by super radioactive plutonium is incalculable, we must adopt some effective measures to shield the radiation. So for Japan, as well as other countries, shielding the radioactive substances is the primary task in order to protect the people's personal safety. Tungsten alloy radiation shielding has excellent shielding capability which is due to its high density and non-toxic properties and been well-known by people in various industries. Therefore, tungsten alloy can be made into the radiation shielding with various shapes so as to meet the different shielding requirements.

In December 2015, China Ganzhou Tungsten Industry Association announced a series of tungsten products’ prediction offer such as wolframite concentrate 62,000.00 RMB/ton, APT 100,000.00/ton, middle particle powder 160/kg. Ganzhou Tungsten Industry Association announced the prediction offer of tungsten series products, which makes tungsten concentrate price going up. At the present, tungsten concentrate price already grows up to guide price and it may continue to goes up in the future. Many experts indicated tungsten concentrate price will continue to grow up till the price can be accepted by most mining companies, it is expected the mine will gradually resume production for sale.

 

Tungsten market gets better and price rebound has a lot of reasons. The mainly reason is China big tungsten companies has restricted sale after tungsten price dropped down to production cost. So tungsten market purchases are difficult. Besides, many middle and small mines stop production result in scarcity of raw material so tungsten series products’ price goes up. What’s more, China whole tungsten industry has consistent attitude about improving tungsten price.

On the other hand, China government employed a series of policy to intervene in market and to stimulate tungsten market development, for example, tariff, export and import policy adjustment and other relevant law and regulation employed. China State Council announced tariff implementation plan and from January 1st 2016 China government adjusts partial policies. So it will good for tungsten industry transformation and upgrading, promoting the transformation of foreign trade development mode, stimulating economic sustained and healthy development. According to some research data found in import traffic ferrotungsten from 2% adjusts to 1%; tungsten scraps form 3% reducing to 1%. In export traffic, tungsten ore and tungsten concentrate staying the same which is 20%. Recently China Ministry of Land and Resources announced a policy about listing rare earth ore and tungsten ore included in the national protection specified minerals. Government will control total mining volume so rare earth ore and tungsten ore will get effective protection and rational utilization.  

Adel al-Jubeir,minister of foreign affairs of Iran, announced on January 3rd that Saudi broke off its diplomatic relations with Iran, the fuse for this is due to that Saudi executed Nimral-Nimr, who was one of the most important clergies of the Shiites. The contradiction between these two countries of Saudi and Iran is lasting for a long time, but as the two oil-rich country, their broken diplomacy must inevitably have a greater impact on the international situation. However, the reason of the risen international oil prices of course is due to this event. 

 

With the advances of shale oil mining technique in US, its dependence of oil on Saudi gradually decreases, which in fact means that the US and Saudi may change their relations from the interdependent relationships into oil competitors in another extent. This will also impact on the future price of crude oil and gold. Because the historical data had shown that the ups and downs of international crude oil price and gold price has the convergence about 80%. As can be seen from the following table, since the risen international crude oil caused by the broken diplomacy between Saudi and Iran, the international price of gold in recent days has also been upped.

However, in the view of many gold collections and investors, the current slowly risen of gold price does not mean the  rejuvenation of gold price under this turmoil international situation, thus many people are still more willing to pay attention to the tungsten gold-plated products. Because for the collectors, the same beautiful collectibles, but tungsten gold-plated products cost far less than the gold products, so its cost performance is self-evident.
