Darts fans maybe want to choose satisfactory darts, but how to choose them?
The key to choosing darts is to select the weight of darts, which is the mainly weight of dart body. Dart body determines the dart weight, texture, price and shape. Dart weight can range from 12 grams to 50 grams. The international competition states that the weight of a dart cannot exceed 50 grams per unit, and that the weight of a soft dart shall not exceed 18 grams. It is generally agreed that the average weight of a suitable dart is 20-24 grams. More than 24 grams of darts are considered heavy darts, and below 20 grams are considered light darts.
For beginners, we recommend using 22-25 grams of darts. Although people will think that lighter darts are easier to throw, it is bad for your basics. The heavier the dart is, the faster and the harder you need to throw. Try to use a variety of darts, and remember the most important thing is to feel comfortable. Darts used in the official competition often are made of tungsten alloy dart shafts, which has heavy weight and high density. Tungsten alloy darts have become the preferred darts for most professional players.
There are many types of darts, such as straight cylinder type, bottle type, and torpedo type. The weight of the straight cylinder dart is evenly distributed on the dart; the weight of the bottle type dart is mainly concentrated in the middle of the dart; and the center of gravity of the torpedo dart is in the first half of the dart body. At present, many famous dart players choose straight cylinder darts, because it is suitable for all kinds of grip and throwing, and easier to master.
