Tungsten alloy swaging rod consists of W-Ni-Fe, W-Ni-Cu or W-Ni-Cu-Fe. Tungsten alloy swaging rod is made of tungsten alloy rod. After being swaged, the ultimate stensile strength can reach 1200 MPa or even 1400MPa. Tungsten alloy swaging rod is widely used in military industries. The warhead of MBT LAW adopted tungsten alloy swaging rod.
MBT LAW, also known as the NLAW, is a Swedish short-range fire-and-forget anti-tank missile launcher. Designed for use by infantry, the MBT LAW is shoulder fired and disposable, firing just once before being needed to be disposed of. It is currently in use with the militaries of the United Kingdom, Finland, Luxembourg, and Sweden.
The MBT LAW was developed by Saab Bofors Dynamics in the early 2000s, using technology derived from the BILL 2 (warhead and guidance), and AT4 CS (confined space capability) systems. It is a soft-launch system, allowing it to be used by infantry from within an enclosed space. In this system, the rocket is first launched out of launcher using a low powered ignition. After the rocket travels several meters into flight, its main rocket ignition occurs which propels to rocket from there on, to the target.
With tungsten alloy swaging rod, MBT LAW can penetrate armor easily to destroy armor vehicles or tanks.
