As a refractory metal composite material, it uses tungsten powder as its main matrix, alloyed with nickel, iron, copper, or other elements (such as molybdenum or tantalum) through powder metallurgy processes. This not only imparts the high melting point and density of tungsten but also enhances toughness and machinability.

From a manufacturing perspective, the production process of tungsten alloy threaded rods is complex, primarily employing powder metallurgy. Initially, tungsten powder is mixed with other metal element powders in specific proportions and pressed into a green compact, followed by high-temperature sintering in a hydrogen or vacuum environment to form a dense alloy block. Subsequently, machining processes such as turning, milling, and thread rolling are used to create the threaded geometry. Thread types vary, including metric threads, imperial threads, or special trapezoidal threads, to meet different load requirements.
The application areas of tungsten alloy threaded rods are extensive, playing a critical role particularly in defense and aerospace industries. For instance, in rocket engines or satellite propulsion systems, they are used to fix high-temperature components, withstanding thousands of degrees of thermal shock and intense vibrations to ensure structural integrity. In nuclear reactors, tungsten alloy threaded rods are often employed as connecting elements for control rod drive mechanisms, leveraging their high density to shield radiation and resist neutron bombardment-induced embrittlement. Additionally, in chemical and electronic industries, they are suitable for sealed connections in high-pressure reactors or vacuum furnaces, with their corrosion resistance extending equipment lifespan.
