1. Warm Light Color
Tungsten wire bulbs (incandescent bulbs) emit a warm, yellow-white light, typically ranging from 2700K to 3000K. This low color temperature creates a soft, warm, and cozy atmosphere, perfect for cafes, restaurants, bars, or retro-style home decor. Compared to cool white light, tungsten wire light evokes a sense of nostalgia and enhances the warmth of a space.
2. Retro Aesthetics
Tungsten wire bulbs are known for their exposed tungsten wire design. Common shapes include spirals, hairpins, and squirrel cages, embodying an industrial and retro charm. II. The Technical Principle of Tungsten Wire as a Light Source
Tungsten wire lamps operate based on the principle of incandescence. When current is applied to the tungsten wire inside the bulb, it heats to an incandescent state (approximately 2500-3000°C) due to the resistance effect, emitting visible light. Tungsten is chosen as the wire material for its extremely high melting point (3422°C) and excellent heat resistance, allowing it to operate at high temperatures for extended periods without melting or breaking. Tungsten wires evaporate slowly at high temperatures. To slow this process, the bulb is often filled with an inert gas (such as argon, krypton, or nitrogen) to reduce the tungsten's volatilization rate and thus extend the life of the bulb.
The spectral characteristics of tungsten wire lamps stem from their near-blackbody radiation principle. When heated by electricity, the tungsten wire emits a continuous spectrum covering the visible light range from red to blue, resulting in a soft light with excellent color rendering. The glass envelope of the bulb is often clear or slightly yellowish to further enhance the vintage effect and protect the tungsten wire from external oxidation.
