Tungsten Hexachloride Applied for Porous WO3 Film

Tungsten hexachloride can be applied for preparing porous WO3 film. Wherein, porous WO3 film is a common gas-sensitive material with excellent gas-sensing performance and gasochromic performance. In addition, it is a typical electrochromic material, and is considered to be one of the most promising electrochromic materials. Tungsten hexachloride (WCl6) is a raw material for preparation of new material that can be used in the chemical industry for catalytic applications, as well as in the glass industry, mainly for the production of surface coatings. The researchers used WCl6 as the raw material, introduced the appropriate amphiphilic polymer template PS-co-PAAL, and prepared a relatively regular porous WO3 film by the sol-gel method. In this process, the researchers found that the porous structure can increase the diffusion rate of ions and hydrogen atoms, and increase the response speed of gasochromism.
