Tungsten Carbide Microdrill Bit

Tungsten carbide microdrill bit refers to a type of tungsten carbide drill bits having a diameter of less than 3.175 mm. In order to make the microdrill bit have an effective drilling effect, a series of factors must be considered: such as various elements of drill itself, processing parameters, hole depth, installation completeness, and the structure of workpiece.

Tungsten carbide microdrill bit is made of a tungsten carbide based cemented carbide which contains a binder phase of 6% by weight to 14% by weight of a cobalt alloy and a hard dispersed phase of balance tungsten carbide. The cobalt alloy contains cobalt, chromium, vanadium and tungsten and has weight ratios so as to satisfy the relationships of 0.04≤(c+d)/(a+b+c+d)≤0.10 and 0.50≤c/(c+d)≤0.95, where a, b, c and d denote weight ratios of tungsten, cobalt, chromium and vanadium, respectively. What should be noted is that tungsten carbide microdrill bit need to be installed and used carefully. Accurate concentricity is particularly important as lateral load caused by different centers will cause the drill to crack.
