According to reports, as early as 1992, researchers have studied the sensitivity of doped tungsten trioxide films to NH3 in the air. So far, there are numerous studies on tungsten oxide-based NH3 gas sensors. For example, some researchers adopted Au and MoO3 as additives to prepare a tungsten trioxide-based sensor for NH3 detection, which can even be operated at a high temperature of 400 °C, and the detection limit of NH3 can reach 1ppm. Some other researchers also prepared tungsten trioxide nanofibers by electrospinning, and studied the response characteristics of the obtained nanofibers to 50-500ppm NH3 at 350 °C, and found that the WO3 nanofibers had a faster response to NH3, with a response time of less than 20s.
