Besides, the accelerator should be sit in a room with tungsten alloy shield and concrete walls so that the high-energy X-rays are shielded and no one outside of the room is exposed to the X-rays. The accelerator only emits radiation when it is actually turned on, so the risk of accidental exposure is extremely low. But we still should pay much attention to the shielding of radiation as the medical linear accelerator has high power and strong radiation.
