Electric Heating Furnace for the Preparation of Violet Tungsten Oxide

As violet tungsten oxide has high chemical activity and good air permeability, it is suitable for the production of ultrafine tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder. At present, a kind of electric heating furnace is applied in the production of violet tungsten oxide.

As for the preparation device of violet tungsten oxide, it is a kind of rotary furnace of resistance-type. It is composed of five parts: furnace body, feeding mechanism, furnace tube driving mechanism, discharging mechanism and air supply and exhaust mechanism. Here are the details of the parts as following as:

1. Furnace Body

There are three temperature zones in the furnace body. The heating elements are electric heating plates with embedded electric heating wires. Each temperature zone has six electric heating plates, which connect in a shape of Y.

2. Feeding Mechanism

The feeding mechanism is composed of a screw feeder and a driving motor. The motor speed can be adjusted by a frequency converter.

3. Furnace Tube Driving Mechanism

The furnace tube is driven by the motor and the reducer through chainwheels and chains. And the motor speed can be adjusted by a frequency converter.

4. Discharging Mechanism

A discharging chamber is composed of two pneumatic butterfly valves, which help the collection and discharge of the materials. In addition, the atmosphere in the furnace can be isolated from the outside with the aid of two valves.

5. Air Supply and Exhaust Mechanism

Ammonia enters the furnace tube from the furnace tail and is discharged from the furnace head. The inlet pipe is equipped with a manual regulating valve and a flow measuring instrument. The exhaust pipe with a liquid level alarm device. is connected to a water sealed gas collecting tank with an alarm device for liquid level.

The electric heating furnace has the characteristics of large time delay and nonlinearity. The control of its temperature is the key to prepare high-quality violet tungsten oxide. Only by adjusting the temperature of the furnace properly, can violet tungsten oxide with good performance be successfully prepared.
