Electrochromic Films of Nanocrystalline Doped Tungsten Oxide

Tungsten oxide film has important application value in display field because of its excellent electrochromic characteristics. It can effectively improve its electrochromic performance by doping a proper amount of FTO (fluorine doped tin oxide) nanocrystals. The display device prepared by the film has the characteristics of no blind angle, high contrast, low energy consumption, and can be used as electronic paper, indicator board, etc.

Some enterprises have developed a preparation method of electrochromic film pattern of nanocrystalline doped tungsten oxide, which can solve the problems of using corrosive solvent to easily corrode the substrate, low efficiency and unable to prepare large area film pattern. The preparation process is as follows:

Step 1: dissolve the tin dichloride in anhydrous ethanol, place the solution at 75 ℃ and 45 ℃ in the dry nitrogen environment, reflux for 24 hours alternately every 2 hours to obtain sol a, then add trifluoroacetic acid to sol a, place it at 45 ℃ and continue to reflux for 5 hours to obtain FTO sol B for standby;

Step 2: dissolve the tungsten chloride in anhydrous ethanol, place the solution in the environment of 0 ℃, stir it evenly in dry nitrogen atmosphere for 2 hours to obtain sol C for standby;

Step 3, the sol B obtained in step 1 is mixed with the sol C obtained in step 2 respectively, and the composite sol D is obtained after stirring at room temperature for 0.5h in dry nitrogen atmosphere;

Step 4: add the chelating agent into the anhydrous ethanol, stir at room temperature for 2h in the dry nitrogen atmosphere, and obtain solution E;

Step 5, the sol D obtained in step 3 is mixed with the solution e obtained in step 4, and the sol f is obtained by refluxing at 60 ℃ for 2-4 hours in a dry nitrogen environment. After 24 hours of precipitation, the sensitive FTO doped tungsten oxide sol is obtained.

FTO nanocrystals with transparent, conductive and near-infrared electrochromic characteristics were added to the electrochromic tungsten oxide films, and the electrochromic films with visible near-infrared dual frequency modulation were prepared. Compared with ordinary amorphous tungsten oxide films, the electrochromic films doped with the nanocrystals have better electrochromic properties and are more suitable for display materials.
