Inorganic fullerene tungsten disulfide nanotube has high application value in many fields. How to prepare inorganic fullerene WS2 nanotube? It can be prepared by chemical gas-solid reaction method and template method. Among them, the former is the most mature preparation method at present.
Inorganic Fullerene (IF) tungsten disulfide nanotube has the structure of concentric tube layers, which is the same as that of C60 and carbon nanotube. This structure determines the excellent mechanical, friction and electronic transportation properties of inorganic fullerene tungsten disulfide nanotube, making it a widely-used material.
The following are the two preparation methods of inorganic fullerene tungsten disulfide nanotube.
1. Chemical gas-solid reaction method.
This method is the earliest used preparation method as well as the most mature one at present. It has been improved continuously.
(1) Inorganic fullerene tungsten disulfide nanotube was prepared by mixing H2S and WO3 film under reaction atmosphere (95% N2 + 5% H2) at 850°C. However, the yield was usually small.
(2) WO3 film was replaced by WO3 powder and the reactor was improved. Then, 50 mg inorganic fullereneWS2 nanotubes can be obtained each time.
(3) Researchers successfully developed a fluidized bed reactor in 2000, so as to realize the continuous preparation of inorganic fullerene tungsten disulfide nanotube.
2. Template method.
This method uses multi-walled carbon nanotube to prepare single-walled tungsten disulfide nanotube. It involves the following steps:
Step One: 250 mg H2WO4 is reacted with 50mg multi-walled carbon nanotube in liquid nitrogen condition at -78°C. And then the liquid nitrogen is volatilized at room temperature.
Step Two: The solid residues are heated with an air flow of 100mL/min. When temperature up to 350°C, they are kept warm for 15 minutes. And then H2WO4 on the surface of multi-walled carbon nanotube is transformed into WO3 before amorphous carbon is removed.
Step Three: Multi-walled carbon nanotube with monolayer tungsten disulfide coating is successfully prepared.
