Superhard Tungsten Steel Piercing Needle

Superhard tungsten steel piercing needle refers to the wear-resistant tungsten steel products made of rare metal TiC and TaC which can significantly improve the high-temperature strength, high-temperature hardness and oxidation resistance of tungsten steel alloys. This kind of superhard material can keep almost unchanged at 600 ~℃, and still has a high hardness at 1100 ~℃, which is more than 10 times higher than that of ordinary tungsten steel matrix. It has great prospects to make wear-resistant, heat-resistant and efficient perforating needles of superhard tungsten steel with this material. The preparation process of superhard tungsten steel perforating needle includes:

(1)Full mixing: Tungsten carbide, cobalt carbide, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide, vanadium carbide and chromium carbide are crushed in a crusher, and then placed in a high-speed mixer for full mixing;

(2)One-time drying: Put the powder mixed in step (1) into the drying equipment for one-time drying treatment, after drying, screen and add shaping agent;

(3)Secondary drying: the mixture obtained in step (2) is put into the drying equipment and then dried twice, and the granulated metal mixture is obtained after full drying.

(4)Compression forming: the metal mixture obtained in step (3) is compacted;

(5)Vacuum low pressure sintering: sintering compacted solids under vacuum low pressure;

(6)De-blanking inspection: the solid sintered in step (5) is removed from the vacuum sintering furnace and the blank is inspected by non-destructive ultrasound and the accuracy of the blank size. The qualified solid is superhard tungsten steel.

(7)Machining: The superhard tungsten steel is machined by CNC machining center, and a superhard tungsten steel piercing needle is finally obtained.

The superhard tungsten steel piercing needle was manufactured by re-mixing tungsten carbide, cobalt carbide, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide, vanadium carbide and chromium carbide powder. The surface hardness of the superhard tungsten steel piercing needle reaches HRA (> 92) at room temperature after manufacture, and its normal service life reaches more than 78 times. It also improves the production efficiency of the whole machine and reduces the production cost, thus creating a lot of economic benefits for the factory.
