A Tungsten Lubricating Oil Additive

Diesel engine oil is mainly composed of paraffin base oil or synthetic lubricant, which is prepared by adding many additives such as antioxidant, antiseptic, detergent and dispersant, antifriction agent and so on.

In order to meet the long cycle of emission and oil change, engine lubricants need better antifriction and antioxidant properties; in order to meet the fuel economy, engine lubricants will develop to low viscosity, and low viscosity engine lubricants need better antiwear properties. Tungsten lubricating oil additive is an environmentally friendly and efficient anti-wear and anti-oxygen lubricating oil additive, which is widely used in various high-grade lubricating greases. Among them, there is an additive of N-octadecyl imide diethanotungstate. The synthetic method is as follows:

In three flasks weighing 64.2g dihydroxyethyl octadecylamine to 1000 ml, 0.5g catalyst was added, and 300 ml toluene was added as solvent to reflux under magnetic stirring. The 34 g ammonium tungstate pentahydrate aqueous solution was weighed and slowly dripped into three flasks using a constant pressure dropping funnel. The temperature of the reaction system is controlled between 90 and 100 ℃, and the reaction time is about two hours. The water separator is used to separate the upper water layer and filter the green products with grass. The green solid, N-octadecyl imine diethanotungstate, is obtained by vacuum drying and vacuum distillation.

The prepared N-octadecyl imide diethanotungstate additive was used to determine its oil solubility. According to the mass fraction of 0.05, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0, N-octadecyl imine diethanotungstic acid diester additive was added into two mineral base oils, 150N (second base oil) and 100N (third base oil), respectively, stirring and heating to 50 ℃ for three months.

The oil solubility of N-octadecyl imide diethanotungstate additive was determined. According to the mass fraction of 0.05, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0, N-octadecyl imide diethanotungstic acid diester additives were added to 150N (Class II base oil) and 100N (Class III base oil) mineral base oils respectively, stirred and heated to 50 ℃. After three months of rest, it was found that N-octadecyl imide diethanotungstic acid diester was added. Additives have good oil solubility, are easy to disperse in diesel engine lubricants, do not produce precipitation, and can effectively improve the high temperature antioxidant properties of diesel engine lubricants. The average oil change cycle is increased by 12,000 km compared with the market brand diesel engine lubricants of the same grade, and the oil change cycle can reach 60,000 km. Economic efficiency can be increased by 20-30%, with objective benefits.
