Preparation Method of Tungsten Alloy Jewelry

Jewelry have always been absolutely important items in people's aesthetic activities. A right jewellery shines a beautiful lady. Among jewelry materials, tungsten alloys is new alloy being used to produce jewelry.

Tungsten alloy is an excellent material for making jewellery. It has a density over  ordinary metal, which makes consumers feel weighty, just like wearing gold jewelry.As you know, all the precious metals have a high density. The tungsten is a little denser than gold. At present, the common tungsten alloy jewellery include watches and rings. However, tungsten itself is fragile characteristics and is difficult to process. Thus, other metals are added to enhance its performance and to resolve its weakness.

The main components of the tungsten alloy jewelry are tungsten (W), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), molybdenum (Mo), etc.,The steps for preparing tungsten alloy materials for making jewelry are:

(A) Tungsten powder and other metal powders are proportioned, and then placed in a drum for uniform mixing.

(B) The uniformly mixed powder is formed into a setting shape by pressing or injection molding.

(C) The embryo body is vacuum-sintered, dewaxed and sintered into a workpiece.

(D) Forming the alloy workpiece with a grinding wheel, a grinding disc or a grinding tool containing diamond or diamond.

(E) Firstly, the capillary surface of the metal workpiece is polished by a roller, and then a mixture of diamond powder and a polishing paste is used for surface treatment, so that the surface of the workpiece is treated as a mirror surface, and further processed into a finished product with inlay.

The higher the tungsten content, the harder and brittle the alloy material is. The 88% tungsten is the limit. The product produced at this level can have the advantages of tungsten, hard and bright, and special vacuum sintering technology is added to make it not fragile, the surface is extremely bright and nearly mirror-like, and because the hardness is close to the diamond, no matter how long it is worn or rubbed against other objects, the surface of the product is still bright and smooth, no scratches or gaps, and has a long-lasting appearance.  The advantage is that it overcomes the problem that the surface of the traditional jewelry material is easy to scratch and is not easy to maintain long-term brightness. At the same time, the weight of the ring is heavier than the general metal, so that the consumer wears a sense of weight, just like wearing a precious metal.
