Fine Wolframite Flotation with Naphthalene Phthalate Dihydroxamic Acid

Hydroxamic acid is a kind of organic compound. It is carboxylic acid derivative substituted by oxime group in carboxylic acid molecule. It is a very weak organic acid. Industrial hydroxamic acid is a reddish brown oily liquid. The collector based on hydroxamic acid has good selectivity, but its collecting ability is slightly lower than oleic acid. However, it is just suitable for fine wolframite floatation. For example, a mine in southern Jiangxi Province used naphthalene phthalate Dihydroxamic Acid as the main collector to recover tungsten slime.

(1)Put the gravity tailings sample into agitation tank, control the pulp concentration of 33-35%, add sodium carbonate 300-600 g/t, control the pulp pH value of 7.8-8.0, mixing time of 3 minutes;

(2)Adding gangue inhibitor and fine mud dispersant, sodium silicate: CMC cellulose = 5:1, mixing amount of sodium silicate and CMC cellulose is 400-700 g/t, mixing time is 5 minutes;

(3)Lead nitrate, the activator of wolframite, was added in 200-400 g/t and the stirring time was 5 minutes.

(4)Naphthalate Dihydroxamic Acid as collector, kerosene as auxiliary collector, mixed collector dosage of 400-600 g/t, turpentine as foaming agent, dosage of 20-30 g/t, stirring time of 3 minutes;

(5)Tungsten flotation adopts the technological process of one roughing, two cleaning and two sweeping. The roughing time is 5 minutes; the cleaning time is 3 minutes each, and adding water glass 100g/t in one sweeping, the dosage of mixed collector of hydroxamic acid and kerosene is 50-100g/t and terpineol is 8-15g/t; the cleaning time is 3 minutes and 2 minutes respectively, and tungsten concentrate is obtained through separation.

The results show that the tungsten grade and recovery of tungsten in tungsten concentrate are greatly improved by using this reagent system. The tungsten grade in tungsten concentrate is over 30% and the tungsten recovery is over 80%. The pH value of the pulp is adjusted by carbonation, and the pH value is controlled between 7.8 and 8.0. Under this environment, naphthalene phthalate dihydroxamic Acid can be fully dissolved and exert its maximum efficacy.
