Tungsten Trioxide - Titanium Dioxide Core Shell Structure Nanocomposites Preparation

Tungsten trioxide has a narrow band gap (2.6-2.7 eV). The band structure of tungsten trioxide can match well with that of titanium dioxide. By compounding it with titanium dioxide, a composite with core shell structure can be obtained, which has better photoelectric or photocatalytic properties than that of a single component (titanium dioxide or tungsten trioxide).

Recently, some researchers have made breakthroughs in this field. A tungsten trioxide-titanium dioxide core shell structure nanocomposites has been successfully prepared. The successful processes include:

1)Glucose aqueous solution with concentration of 0.1-2.0 mol/L was transferred to an airtight container, and the carbon microspheres were obtained by hydrothermal reaction at 160-200 C for 1-20 H. The filters were cooled, filtered and separated. The filters were washed and dried with ethanol and deionized water to obtain carbon microspheres.

2)Carbon microspheres prepared in step 1 were dispersed in the mixed solution of titanium tetrachloride and tungsten hexachloride in ethanol. The concentration of titanium tetrachloride was 0.1-2.0 mol/L, and the mass fraction of tungsten hexachloride was 0.01-0.20 mol/L. After soaking for 3-36 hours, carbon microspheres were filtered and separated, cleaned by ethanol, then dried to obtain carbon microspheres adsorbed with titanium ions and tungsten ions.

3)Carbon microspheres adsorbed with titanium and tungsten ions were added to calciner and calcined at a constant temperature of 0.5-5 ℃/min to 350-600 ℃ for 2-24 h in air to obtain tungsten trioxide-titanium dioxide core shell nanocomposites.

The method is simple, cheap and non-toxic. The size of carbon sphere template can be accurately adjusted by controlling the concentration of glucose solution, the time and temperature of hydrothermal reaction. Finally, the size of tungsten trioxide/titanium dioxide core shell nanocomposite particles can be adjusted. The tungsten trioxide-titanium dioxide core shell nanocomposite ruler is prepared. Uniform inch, good dispersion, can meet the requirements of large-scale industrialization.
