How to Recycle Bismuth Ore from Tungsten Tailings

The content of bismuth in the earth's crust is only about 10‑6%, which is symbiosis with other metal minerals such as tungsten and molybdenum. Generally, bismuth is recycled from the by-products of other main metal refining processes, such as the exploitation of tungsten ore and the production of bismuth ore.

The most suitable recycling stage of bismuth ore is in the process of magnetic separation of wolframite, after the tungsten tailings after jigging into the magnetic separation process, the process of recycling bismuth concentrate at this stage is available, and its beneficiation work is as follows:

(1) The magnetite tailings are transferred from the tungsten mine magnetic separation workshop, and transported to the raw material storehouse of the flotation workshop. The material is sent to the high frequency vibrating screen by the vibrating ore drawing machine. The 0.2mm screen is qualified as the qualified grain grade, and is sent to the sodium sulfide soaking pool. The 0.2mm screen is sent to the grinding machine, and the high frequency vibrating screen is returned with the sand pump after the grinding.

According to the results of the dissolution of the monomers of bismuth, it is found that the bismuth deposit is inhomogeneous, mainly with fine particles, and the dissolution rate of 0.20mm particle size monomer is 89.4%. It is proved that 0.20mm is the most suitable fineness.

(2) The raw materials are soaked in the soaking pool and soaked in sodium sulfide solution (vulcanization). The dosage of sodium sulfide is 3000-3200g/t. During the process of adding water, it is properly stirred and soaked (vulcanized) to 18-20h. After washing the residual sodium sulfide in the pulp, the slurry is fed into the mixing bucket with a sand pump.

(3) In the mixing bucket, adding ethyl sulphur nitrogen 150-170g/t, water glass 1000~1100g/t, stirring 15min, the sluice gate controls the pulp quantity into the mechanical agitated flotation machine trough, adding No.2 oil 60 ~ 80g/t for flotation, and the coarse selected tailings flow into the mechanical stirred flotation machine trough, adding ethyl thio nitrogen 150~180g/t and water glass 1000~1200g/t The scavenging operation of and No. 2 oil, 60 ~ 70g/t was carried out, and the tailings were discarded. The coarse selected concentrate was inhaled into the mechanical stirred flotation machine trough, adding water glass 1000~1200g/t, and recycle the bismuth concentrate, and the selection and cleaning sequence returned to the flotation.

This method of recycling bismuth is more widely applicable, not only for the tailings of wolfram magnetic separation, but also for the flotation tailings of scheelite and other materials containing bismuth oxide.
