Design of Tungsten Carbide Die for Small Connecting Plate

As a special tool for manufacturing industry and a basic process equipment, mold is used to form all kinds of metal or non-metallic materials, becoming an indispensable tool for small cutting and no cutting. Mold has been widely used in various fields, such as cars, household appliances, meters, electronics, communications, etc. And the forming of 60%~80% components must rely on mold. 1, Layout Design
Layout is the key to the design of progressive die. The reasonable structure and material utilization rate of mould depend on the correct layout, so the layout optimization is very important. Specific principles are: (1) in order to meet the requirements of mold strength, the number of workstations must be minimized. (2) the outline of the complex parts should be simplified as far as possible, that is, to cut the complex outline shape into a few simple shapes when cutting the waste and have enough allowance. (3) in the bending process, there must be guide pin to prevent the shift of the strip and ensure the dimensional accuracy.
 
2, Design of Die Structure and Main Parts
(1) Die structure: four guide column ball guide sleeve mould, and 6 small guide pillars guide in the template to ensure the precision and assembly convenience of the mold. The mold fixing plate and the mould fixing plate are designed as integral type, and processed by slow wire cutting, so that the processing and installation are convenient and reliable. Because of mass production, the feeder is automatically fed. In order to prevent the strip from sticking to the lower mould plate due to oil contamination, 10 lifting nails are set up. The circular mold is positioned in step structure, and the positioning key and the boss are used in the non-circular mold.
 
(2) Discharge plate: the discharge plate not only plays the role of unloading, but also plays the role of guiding the mold, the flat strip and the fixed guide pin. It is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the position of the discharge plate, so the discharge plate is connected with the fixed plate of the mold through the small guide column and the positioning nail. The discharge plate is made of CrWMn. After heat treatment, the hardness is 52-56HRC.
 
(3) Other parts: the backing plate and the fixed plate are made of 45 steel. And the hardness of heat treatment is 46-52HRC. The upper and lower die bases are made of 45 steel, Quenched and tempered and aged. The material of the guide pin and guide sleeve is GCr15} discharge spring, and the high strength and high-quality rectangle spring is adopted.
 
The CAD/CAM technology has been adopted in the design of tungsten carbide die for small connecting plate, so that the die design and processing cycle are obviously shortened. After years of use, it is proved that the mold is easy to use and maintain, and the productivity is greatly improved, which meets the requirements of mass production.
