Tungsten electrode is one of the most common arc electrode materials. Tungsten electrode material is mainly used for tungsten argon arc welding in welding. It is generally used as cathode part during argon arc welding, and it is suitable for welding of all metal materials.
At present, the use of germanium dioxide in metal tungsten is generally used to stimulate the escape of electrons in the metal tungsten, reduce the effective work function of the tungsten electrode, make the tungsten electrode work at a lower temperature, and improve the service life of the tungsten electrode.
Alas, it is known that it is a radioactive metal element. Although a large number of investigations and tests have proved that only 100-200 mg of tungsten rod is consumed every day, the amount of radiation is small and has little impact on the human body. However, if the workplace is not well ventilated and the space is small, the radioactive ions in smoke may exceed the standard, so new rare earth tungsten electrodes have been introduced.
In order to replace the use of ruthenium, rare earth elements such as ruthenium oxide, ruthenium oxide, and ruthenium oxide are usually added to the pure tungsten electrode so that the radioactive material in the tungsten electrode is minimized. However, cerium tungsten electrode has poor performance of repeated arc ignition, easy arc breaking, small arc pressure and allowable current, poor processing performance of lanthanum tungsten electrode, severe burning during the use of large current, difficult processing of yttrium tungsten electrode, and poor arc stability when small current is used. Therefore, the best solution is a tungsten electrode containing a variety of rare earth elements at the same time adding a variety of rare earth elements in a pure tungsten electrode. Compared with the single-element rare earth tungsten electrode core, the multiple rare earth tungsten electrode performance is more superior.
The addition of rare-earth elements into tungsten electrodes can also reduce the electron escaping power of tungsten elements, thereby replacing the use of thorium. The tungsten electrodes prepared do not contain substances that are safe for the operators. At the same time, the use of four kinds of rare earth elements makes the performance of the prepared tungsten electrode superior to the use of a single rare earth element.
