Inner Reducing Method to Produce Blue Tungsten Oxide

Blue tungsten oxide with high purity and large specific surface area will be obtained by reducing W (VI) with the inner composition of tungsten compound. This method usually uses ammonium paratungstate (APT) as raw material to synthesize intramo leculsrly reducing tungstate (IRT), and decomposes it in inert atmosphere.

1. Select proper inert gas. IRT thermal decomposition should be processed in inert atmosphere to prevent generation of tungsten trioxide, such as nitrogen gas (N2) atmosphere. N2 is an economic gas that won’t affect product quality.

2. Determine thermal decomposition temperature. The thermal decomposition temperature has an effect on product’s quality.

3. Control thermal decomposition time. For a thermal decomposition temperature, the thermal decomposition time will also affect product’s quality.
