Bismuth - Amorphous Bismuth Tungstate Composite Photocatalyst

Bismuth based photocatalyst is a good visible light catalyst. However, bismuth based photocatalyst is easy to compounded due to its narrow gap width (1.76eV to 3.1eV), resulting in low photo activity.

2.The bismuth solution and the solution of the tungsten acid root are uniformly and very well, and the amorphous bismuth tungstate powder is obtained by the constant temperature reaction in the oven.

3.The reducing agent and the amorphous bismuth tungstate powder were dissolved in deionized water and mixed magnetic stirring at room temperature, bismuth - amorphous bismuth tungstate - bismuth trioxide ternary organic composite photocatalyst was obtained by in situ deposition.

In the obtained bismuth-amorphous tungstate bismuth-bismuth trioxide ternary organic composite photocatalyst, the fact that the elemental Bi is loaded on the surface of bismuth tungstate in situ and forms a heterojunction with the bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) which is an oxide of elemental Bi can speed up the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes of the amorphous bismuth tungstate to a large extent. Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity of visible light is improved. At the same time, compared to the semi metal - organic composite photocatalyst formed by the noble metal load on the surface of bismuth tungstate, bismuth - amorphous bismuth tungstate - bismuth trioxide ternary organic composite photocatalyst is cheap, simple preparation, good photocatalytic effect, can be better applied to the field of photocatalysis.
