The traditional method of reducing tungsten trioxide is to evaporate and crystallize the wet ammonium paratungstate to be dried and packaged by a dryer, join the rotary kiln for the production of tungsten trioxide, drying packaging process not only waste manpower, material and energy, but also increase the cost of production.
Accordingly, some scholars put forward by the method of wet ammonium paratungstate preparation of WO3, the wet APT directly into the rotary kiln calcined into WO3, thereby reducing the drying and packaging process, shorten the process, reduce the production cost of the products.
In industrial production, 240kg wet APT with water content ≤8% is added into the silo hourly, the wet APT is evenly fed into the rotary kiln through a double screw feeder, the wet ammonium paratungstate was thermally decomposed at a temperature of 710 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes to obtain 195 kg of tungsten trioxide, ammonia NH3 and water vapor H2O.
The conclusion of the study shows that the wet method of ammonium paratungstate preparation of WO3 can be successfully wet APT calcined into WO3, the production of tungsten trioxide by scanning electron microscopy, and dried APT production of tungsten oxide compared to the basic shape of the product, the performance can meet the requirements of manufacturers.
Compared with the existing tungsten smelting process by wet APT calcined into WO3, eliminating the drying and packaging process, reducing the dust pollution in the process of drying APT, improve the working environment, shorten the production process, reduce production cost. At the same time, the process does not use a lot of steam heating and drying, the energy consumption can be reduced by 15%, which is equivalent to the cost per ton of APT products, the fuel cost is reduced by 10%, and the total savings amount is considerable.
