The excellent properties of tungsten alloy materials are closely related to their density. If the density of tungsten and its alloy is above 95%, if the densification is reduced by 1%, the thermal conductivity will decrease by 10%, and the mechanical properties such as hardness and tensile strength will also decrease significantly with the decrease of density.
At present, high density tungsten alloys are mainly sintered by powder metallurgy, and then forging, rolling and other hot processing to improve the density of the tungsten and its alloys. This traditional process can make the material more than 99% of the density, and can also greatly improve the mechanical properties of the material. But the drawback is that the production of a single product, such as rod like, plate or small size. If we want to produce high density products with complex shapes or medium-sized three dimensions, they will not be obtained through deformation processing, or they will cause great cost.
In response to the shortcomings of the prior art, some scholars have proposed a method of preparing a high-density tungsten alloy material. The method comprises the following steps of: crushing tungsten and its alloy powder, pressing the green compact with different shapes of isostatic pressing molds and then sintering to obtain a high-density sintered compact of a desired shape; This method can prepare high-density tungsten alloy material with large size and complex shape, and basically does not increase the cost. The density of tungsten and its alloy products is above 98%.
The relative density of 10 high density tungsten crucible obtained by this method is measured by hydrostatic weighing method. The relative density is 98.5%, and the actual density is 19.05g/cm3. From the metallographic photos of high density tungsten crucible, we can see that the finished product has uniform grain size and small pore size and has achieved good process parameters.
