Tungsten Bronze Chemical Properties

Tungsten bronze (TB) is a typical non-stoichiometric compound whose formula can be written as MXWO3. Of these, M is the first, second main group of elements and rare earth elements of tungsten bronze. Tungsten bronze has a special spatial tunnel structure, usually in accordance with the structure of the crystal classification. In tungsten bronze, The tunnel structure and this particular valence make it excellent in properties such as electron and ion conductivity, superconductivity, optical properties and the like, which is also widely used in secondary batteries, electrochromic and chemical sensors and the like.

Traditional tungsten bronze preparation can be divided into wet chemical method, thermal reduction method and electrochemical method. There has been new progress in the preparation of tungsten bronze, such as ion exchange method and mechanical physical method in recent years. In the continuous development and improvement of preparation methods, low temperature synthesis technology is favored. The fine structure of the low-temperature-prepared material such as good defect density makes the tungsten bronze excellent in performance. During the process of low temperature synthesis, some transition metals may replace tungsten to form compounds similar to the tungsten bronze tunneling structure, which also provides a new direction for the improvement of tungsten bronze properties.
